Sunshine releases album
by Damien Fowler
Coventry University’s own Jordie Sunshine of Dandelion Tea has just debuted his first official studio album A Picnic in Limbo.
The album offers a well varied mix of luscious soundscapes that echoes an earthly ambience of visions of desolate landscapes and a beautiful warm tropical paradise.
In creating this juxtaposed balance of thought and mood, the listener is often left feeling placed in limbo, almost at waiting point in a form of paralyzed purgatory. The music nods towards genres such as lounge, pop and shoegaze with an often surreal and cinematic twist.
Album highlights include ‘The Unusually Sturdy Carton of Juice’, ‘Hails’, ‘Nylon’ and Holy Cow, The’.
A listening party as well as an artistic collaboration between the album and artwork of fellow Coventry University artists, is being held today on the first floor of the Herbert Gallery.
The album is available for purchase for £5 and available for digital download via the band’s bandcamp page:
