BEAUTY: Makeup Revolution mini haul

Living on a student budget as a makeup lover can be tough sometimes. While you wish you could spend a good amount of your student loans or wages earned from part-time jobs on high end products like Urban Decay and NARS, your sensible side says no.

However, if you spend enough time searching for good replacements, you might find some diamonds (like Makeup Revolution) hiding on the shelves of local drugstores.

Launched in 2014, Makeup Revolution is a fairly young brand that deserves more recognition among other high street brands. With its surprisingly high quality, elegant packaging and super affordable prices it should be in every beauty fan’s collection.

Giving you a little preview, here are some of the products I picked up recently.

Ultra Contour Palette

contour palette
£8.00
The palette is made up of four highlighters and four bronzers to help you with the perfect contour. They are all nicely pigmented, easy to blend and have good lasting power.

Ultra Face Base Primerprimer
£5.00

This primer has an interesting consistency and makes your skin extra soft while helping your makeup last longer. It might not be as effective as its expensive cousins, but it does work very impressively.

Brow Kit – Medium Browbrow kit
£2.50

Considering the brow trends nowadays, a good eyebrow kit is something we all need. This particular one includes three different powders and a wax. I was thoroughly impressed with the results it gave me and for such a cheap price this purchase is an absolute bargain.

Iconic Lipstick – Blindfolded
£2.49lipstick
Even though it isn’t MAC quality, it isn’t too drying which often happens with matte lipsticks. The colour comes on beautifully too and who doesn’t love a bold, matte lip?
