Celebrity Big Brother 2016 – Entertainment or Trashy TV?

Some may argue that this year’s Celebrity Big Brother has made for entertaining viewing, with it being one of the most controversial versions of the show broadcast yet. With Angie Bowie becoming the 3rd housemate to leave the house on her own accord following the death of ex-husband David Bowie, living in the house is becoming unbearable for the celebs.

American producer David Gest was also one to leave the show following a tweet from his official account, written by his team:

Angie’s departure comes after the eventful meltdown within the house – Gest was at the centre of a row involving US reality star Tiffany Pollard in the memorable clip where she thought David Gest had died, rather than David Bowie. This made for entertaining viewing and was shared widely on social media, with many finding the mix-up hilarious. However, others did not find it quite so funny – CBB racked up 200 complaints about the mishap.

Gest and Bowie are the latest stars to leave the house after Kim Kardashian’s pal, Jonathan Cheban, quit the show last week, citing its “bad vibe”. Cheban confessed in the diary room: “I just think that my time here is kind of expired. The house is not fun any more.”

The show has also followed the tale of supposed cheat Stephanie Davis, which came as an outrage to many viewers as her model boyfriend Sam Reece watches as Davis cosies up with another man. The ex-Hollyoaks actress has been watched by viewers as she develops as a supposed love interest with Irish model Jeremy McConnell. The pair have been seen kissing and cuddling in bed and have appeared inseparable. Rumours were sparked that Sam had ended the relationship after he declared on Twitter that he would “No longer be supporting Stephanie Davis.” However, it was later stated that this was not the case – and there’s an elongated “will he, won’t he” about whether he will go into the CBB house himself. One thing’s for sure – that would sure make some car crash television, especially when TOWIE star and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here dropout Gemma Collins yesterday insisted she was pregnant. Which wasn’t the case.

With nine housemates remaining, after tantrums continuing from reality TV star Megan Mckenna – whose appearance on MTV show Ex On The Beach last year saw slanging matches and tantrums at every corner – saw her booted out last night. Like it or not, it is highly likely that the drama will continue to the very end. Hold onto your seats…
