HomeNews DayCoventry’s Arts and Culture Receive £200k Boost January 19, 2017 News Day, NEWS DAY Arts Council England has allocated £200,000 to ensure arts and culture are at the forefront of new proposals to attract more tourists to Coventry. This investment comes during the city’s bid for the UK City of Culture 2021, with plans being made to raise Coventry’s reputation as a top tourist area. Culture Coventry will spearhead a group of local arts and cultural venues working alongside private sector businesses in the push to attract more tourists. Included in these new plans will be packages personalised for tourists. There will also be a more organised events programming scheme in Coventry as attempts will be made to improve the local economy. The tactics will look to exploit the artistic and cultural heritage of the city and also the numerous venues and attractions around the area.
