HomeNEWSGENERALCrohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week 2017 December 6, 2017 GENERAL It is Crohn’s and Colitis Awareness Week here in the United Kingdom. The aim of this is set to raise awareness of the ‘invisible illnesses’ of both crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. Image courtesy of www.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk Crohn’s and colitis are types of inflammatory bowel disease and over 300 thousand people in the UK are living with these conditions on a day to day basis. Due to people not being aware of these diseases, the stigma and isolation that comes with them, and in some cases embarrassment of talking about the symptoms that people are dealing with, many people go undiagnosed and the awareness of crohn’s and colitis isn’t as widespread as it should be.
