Croydon Tram Driver Released on Bail

Croydon tram crash has left seven people dead and more than 50 injured. The crash happened on Wednesday just after 06:00 GMT, it derailed as it took a sharp turn on the track.

 The 42 year-old driver of the tram has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, but has since been released on bail.

British transport police have not released any information of any of the victims that suffered in the crash. Locals are still in shock and unable to comprehend what had happened.

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) said the tram had been travelling from New Addington to Wimbledon when it derailed. There was a speed limit of 12mph, which was exceeded by the driver, speculations say it was deliberate.

Details of the first victim have been released. He has been named as 19 year old Dane Chinnery. Tributes to the teenager and his family have poured in on social media.

The scene of the crash is expecting to be cut off till at least this evening. Investigations are still ongoing and information is yet to be released.
