EA Sports Pays Tribute to Chapecoense in FIFA 17

 

In the wake of the tragic plane crash that took the lives of multiple Chapecoense players, the football world has united to extend their condolences to the Brazilian club and the families and friends of those who perished.

EA Sports have also offered their own unique tribute to the club. In their incredibly popular mode Ultimate Team for FIFA 17, players were greeted with a message paying tribute to the club and urging players to wear the clubs kit as a sign of support.

After the player acknowledges the message, the kits and badge appear on screen for the player to equip to show their support. The items are untradeable, meaning they can’t be sold on the transfer market where players can make coins.

EA’s tribute is just one of many sent around the world from the footballing community.

Many Brazilian clubs are lobbying for Chapecoense to be exempt from relegation for the next three years and have offered to loan them players free of charge to help the club rebuild from this tragedy.
