The Rising Café at Coventry Cathedral launches its festive menu on November the 1st and customers will be able to enjoy everything from Christmas afternoon teas to a full-on Christmas dinner.

Customers opting for the afternoon tea will be able to enjoy classics, such as turkey sandwiches and pigs-in-blankets whilst the full dinner will have courses such as smoked salmon pate and a traditional turkey dinner. For the sweet-toothed, there will also be a traditional Christmas pudding on offer as part of the full dinner, and the afternoon tea will be served with the café’s famous Christmas spiced scones. There will also be a range of home-made baked goods at the front counter.

Front of House Manager Emma Davies said, “We want to provide a friendly atmosphere to come and relax during the hectic Christmas season and give people a chance to celebrate Christmas who may be too busy on the day itself.” Customers will be able to relax and enjoy their food whilst admiring the Christmas decorations and listening to vintage Christmas classics.

For the younger members of the party, there is a surprise in store on December 20th and 21st, as Ms Davies invites both children and adults alike to, “come and enjoy and afternoon tea and you never know who you might meet!”

There will even be a chance for some Christmas shopping, as all manner of festive goods will be on sale in the café.

Whilst the launch is a little early by some standards (ahead of the likes of Costa and Starbucks), it promises to be a truly magical occasion with all the food and merriment expected of the festive season.

The Rising Café is open from 10:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Saturday.
