After global backlash condemning his views, ‘pro-rape’ advocate Roosh V has been forced to cancel all official meet-ups for like-minded men to meet each other.

Roosh V, whose real name is Daryush Valizadeh, has published over 15 books himself on how to “pull” women around the world with titles like Day Bang: How to Casually Pick Up Girls During the Day and his first book Bang: The Pickup Bible That Helps You Get More Lays. The one-man show has cancelled all official meet-ups amid ironic safety concerns around the gatherings of men in public places.

Meet-ups planned in 43 countries, including nine locations in the UK, have all been cancelled via a brief statement on his official website – but says he can’t “stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups”. Protesters vowed to significantly disrupt the events, particularly at those planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh. MPs have since been urging Home Secretary Theresa May to ban him from the UK, in a similar way to mocking of US Presidential candidate Donald Trump last month.

After the story taking off in the last week, plans for demonstrations disagreeing with the views of the meet-ups forced the organiser to cancel. The news has been widely welcomed by people around around the world, who shared details of the meet-ups in order to warn others away from the area.
