Sacred Things: Elalmadinah … To The City

The Herbert Art Gallery has added a new exhibit for everyone to enjoy. Titled ‘Sacred Things: Elalmadinah … To The City’, the exhibit shows the connection between Coventry and Syrian refugees through various images of sim cards. The photographer Liz Hingley asked Syrian refugees to draw something meaningful to them, and then portrayed the images they created onto large-scale sim cards. The exhibit also contains a glass cabinet containing keys. The keys go back many years in order to see the difference between old keys and keys we use today.

I spoke to Rosie Attenbrooke, exhibition manager, and Jonny Bark, assisting photographer on the production of this exhibit. Listen below to hear what they said:
