HomeNEWSGENERALSky Blues fan banned from all European football games for 3 years February 25, 2014 GENERAL, GLOBAL By Luke Zain Ali and James Stride Alan Howe on the Emirates Stadium pitch A Coventry City fan who invaded the pitch during a recent FA cup game against Arsenal as been banned from all football matches for three years. Alan Howe, 51, from Tile Hill walked onto the Emirates Stadium pitch during the FA cup fourth round tie on January 24th which saw Coventry City play Arsenal. Wearing a shirt that read ‘Sisu Out’ on the front and ‘Keep Coventry in Coventry’ on the back, he protested against club owners Sisu and the situation that has seen Coventry City play home matches 35 miles away from Coventry, in Northampton. He was given a three-year ban from all football grounds in Europe at magistrates court in London on 10th February and was fined £275. He has gained huge amounts of support from fans all over the country and a petition gained more than 1700 signatures calling for a lift on the ban. Despite being banned from all football grounds in Europe until 2017 he vowed to continue his protests against club owners Sisu.
