Following a battle at Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC, Wolverhampton Wanderers have knocked the premiere league team out of the FA Cup in the 4th round with a 2-1 victory, making it through to the final 16.

The first goal of the game was a well-directed header by Wolves defender Richard Stearman, a mere 53 seconds in, following a measured cross from Hélder Costa. The lead was extended later on in the first half by a brilliant through ball from Costa, followed by sprinting attack from newcomer Andreas “Andi” Weimann on his first time in the starting lineup for the club.

Liverpool shortened the lead in the second half, minutes before the final whistle, when Divock Origi landed the ball in the back of the net following a scramble close to the goal.

Despite the loss, Liverpool dominated possession and had nearly triple the amount of shots taken by Wolves.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were the first team through to the 5th round to the FA Cup, and the final West Midlands team left in the running.
