The pub dates back to 1583 but has become popular with Coventriarians alike. St Mary’s Guildhall lies in the heart of Coventry city centre and is reputed to be one of the city’s most haunted buildings. Built in 1340 the guildhall is also one of the city’s oldest buildings and has been visited by countless historical figures in a period of over 650 years. Nowadays the venue has become a tourist hotspot; iCov news went to speak to Marcus Lynch general manager of the guildhall and Charlotte Porter landlady of the Golden Cross Pub to find out just what lies behind the walls of Coventry’s most haunted buildings?
